Kids these days.
They don't know any good insults:
Top playground insults (percentages = teachers who've heard them)
Gay (83%)
Bitch (59%)
Slag (45%)
Poof (29%)
Batty boy (29%)
Slut (26%)
Queer (26%)
Lezzie (24.8%)
Homo (22%)
Faggot (11%)
Sissy (5%)

Frankly, that's pathetic (although remarkably homophobic). Not even a single 'twat' or 'fuckface'. Humph.

Every generation has abusive words
No shit. That is incredible journalism. I bet it took hours of research.
Anyway i think that not every kid used the word gay and meant it in the homophobic sense. They just consider it an insult, like Bastard. The last time i called someone a bastard i didn't actually know if the person was born in wed-lock.
I am disappointed by the absence of "smeg-head"

I'm glad to see that gay is at the top there, makes me smile alot knowing that I still use it to describe ANYTHING that annoys me.
Grainy your face is gay.

Re: Kids these days.
i find the thought of grainys face being gay whilst the rest of his body remains heterosexual rather amusing.
Although what would his face do to be gay?

Re: Kids these days.
Insults have clearly gone down hill. I remember everyone being much more inventive with their insults in my day.
Re: Kids these days.
But what did we call each other? I'm sure gay was in our top 10, what was that word that we used to call chavs before the word chav took over?
*EDIT* I remember it was......'Dobbo', it doesn't quite have the same ring to it anymore.

Dobbo is much better I think. It implies much more the sheer stupidity of them and their existence.
Don't people say pillock any more? One of my favourites from my early school days.

pillock is an old mans insult. Once again proving that Paul grew up in the wrong generation.

Hmmmm maybe it was just a Beighton thing then.
Still at least I've never uttered the words batty boy. You can't call someone that without coming off worse yourself.

Surely its a bit unfair to just pick out 5 words an criticise them for not being the most incisive 5 words ever the grace the earth? You can't expect every sentence of every article you read to be steeped in intelligent insight and thought-provoking incisiveness.
And yes batty boy is fairly horrible.
DOBBO! on the other hand - brilliant.

Re: Kids these days.
to be fair that was a caption under a photograph... it wasn't as if i copied half a quote and expected it to sound better. Frankly the whole articles pointless anyway.

Craig Charles regularly says wazzock on Takeshis Castle, ahh I love that programme.
Re: Kids these days.
I'm not rich enough to get tv where i can watch Takeshis castle. Shame, I used to love coming in from work and start watching that!
